As the Los Angeles area continues to be ravaged by wildfires and dangerously high winds, celebrities are taking to their social media toask their followers to help where they can but also stay safe and get out of the area if necessary. Where the wildfires have been centralized is the home to many high-profile celebrities, such asJamie Lee Curtis, James Woods, and more, with some that may have to evacuate while others have already made the move out of an abundance of safety.

Curtis posted to herInstagram account,“My community and possibly my home is on fire. My family is safe. Many of my friends will lose their homes. Many other communities as well.“The actress then went on to thank the first responders and her fellow neighbor by saying,“I’m grateful to the firefighters and all of the good Samaritans who are helping people get out of the way of the blaze. Neighbors have taken care of neighbors.”

Some Celebrities Have Been Extremely Close To The Devastation

Some celebrities have provided a terrifying and up-close and personal look at the wildfires.Cameron Mathison, who is currently starring in the long-running soap operaGeneral Hospital, showed his Instagram followers he was safe, but also showed theremnants of his home, which was destroyed by the fire.

Cary Elwesalso provided a video on his Instagram page that showed the volume and intensity of the fires as he had to evacuate. In addition,Mira Sorvino also showed how she had to evacuate for the second time in less than a month due to the fires, but she indicated this one was pretty terrifying compared to the rest. Woods, who lives in the heart of where a lot of this started, also shared photos on his X page that showcased just how close the fires got to his home, along with other videos from his neighbors that show how harrowing this has all become.

To put this all in perspective beyond the celebrity connection, over 30,000 people had to be evacuated yesterday alone, and more had to happen today as the number of wildfires increased to five in surrounding areas. Many people have been injured and reportedly two people have perished in the wake of the fires. In addition, more than 320,000 people are without power.

All said, the Palisades Fire has scorched more than 5,000 acres and destroyed a reported 1,000 structures. Homes are gone. Businesses both small and big are gone, and even some schools have been affected. This doesn’t even include the Eaton Fire in Pasadena, which has consumed over 2,000 acres, the Hurst Fire in San Fernando Valley, which has burned through 500 acres, and the Woodley Fire in the Sepulveda Basin. In addition, a fifth fire, the Tyler Fire, is beginning in Riverside County and has only consumed 15 acres, as of this writing, and can hopefully be quickly contained.

Please keep Los Angeles family, friends, neighbors, and loved ones in your thoughts. They need all the love they can get right now.
