Jack Dylan Grazeris an up-and-coming star in Hollywood. At only 19 years old, Grazer already has an impressive list of credits to his name. While he completed most of these roles as a child actor, he has consistently sold each performance with the best of his ability, no matter how big or small the part. While he may be best known for his work in movies likeShazam!andIT, Grazer has been in a number of unique films and shows.

Here are Jack Dylan Grazer’s roles, ranked from worst to the very best.

Jack Dylan Grazer in Scales Mermaids are Real

13Scales: Mermaids Are Real

Overall,Scales: Mermaids Are Realwas not well received by audiences. At best, it is considered predictable but decent; at worst, reviews have called it uncomfortable to watch. However, Grazer’s character, a young boy named Adam, is often cited as the only truly funny (or enjoyable) part of the movie. Even as a very young child, Grazer had a handle on how to make a character fun, even when dealing with a less than ideal script.

12We Are Who We Are

We Are Who We Areis a divisive show, with reviewers tending to rate it on one extreme end of the scale or the other. While it has been praised for the realistic, gritty characters that explore the confusion of finding your identity, it has also been criticized for being factually questionable in relation to military operations and leaving plot points unresolved. We Are Who WeArefollows two teenagers living on a military base, one of them being Grazer’s character, Fraser. The teenagers rebel from their parents and seek out trouble, going too far at times. The show isreminiscent of the filmCall Me By Your Name, at least in style and themes. While Grazer’s acting is well done, his character is often cited as being unlikable.

11Dreamin’ Wild

Dreamin' Wildfollows the story of two brothers, Donnie (Casey Affleck) and Joe (Walton Goggins), who risk everything in pursuit of their dreams to create music. It was recently in the Venice Film Festival and does not seem to have garnered much of a following yet. However, reviews have praised the cast, including Grazer as a young Joe, for their naturalistic performances.

10Beautiful Boy

Beautiful Boyfollows the story of a family dealing with addiction and trying to heal from the rifts it has caused. WhileBeautiful Boyis generally a well liked film, Grazer is not in it very long, which is why it is not higher on the list. However, the energy and characterization he gives to the film and his character in his quick scene are worth noting.

9Ciao Alberto

Ciao Albertois a Pixar short expanding on the story of the filmLuca. After the events of the movie, Grazer’s character, Alberto, writes a letter to his friend, detailing his new life living with Massimo on the Italian Riviera. The first portion of the short is narrated by Alberto as he thinks of what he is writing to Luca. While it would be easy to sound robotic or awkward while narrating a character’s writing, Grazer keeps his voice performance fluid and natural, while adding in some comedic inflections. In the second half of the short, Alberto is forced to deal with heavy emotions associated with his father leaving him. This all erupts in one powerful moment, and just as before, Grazer keeps his performance natural and sells Alberto’s emotions perfectly.Ciao Albertodoes showcase Grazer’s talent as a voice actor, but it is only a short and does not offer as much as some of the longer projects he has been a part of.

8IT Chapter Two

Grazer returned to reprise his role of Eddie from 2017’sITfor the horrifying sequel, or at least the young version of Eddie. Set almost three decades after the first film, the group of young friends, now grown, must face Pennywise once more. James Ransone took over the role of Eddie as an adult, a man still grappling with the consequences of being raised by a raging hypochondriac, and received most of the screen time inIT Chapter Two. However, Grazer perfectly compliments his performance, bringing together a full picture of the character.

7Ron’s Gone Wrong

Ron’s Gone Wrongis yet another example of Grazer’s skill in voice acting. In this movie, Grazer voices the main character in the movie, Barney, a young boy who is given a robotic friend. Unfortunately, his robot doesn’t quite function the way it is supposed to. AlthoughRon’s Gone Wrongis not a particularly popular film, Grazer still provides an energetic performance to this mediocre movie.

6Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons

Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sonsis an animated DC film that follows Jonathan Kent (Grazer) and Damien Wayne (Jack Griffo) as they go on an adventure together tosave their dads and the world from evil. The film has been praised by the fans of DC Comics for the quality of the characters, while it has also garnered some negative reviews from those without prior knowledge and love of the comics for being too much of a kids' movie for adults to enjoy thoroughly.

Regardless of the story, critics and fans alike tend to agree that the voice acting and art style are overall positive aspects of the movie.

5Don’t Tell a Soul

Met with somewhat mixed reviews,Don’t Tell a Soulis a coming-of-age film disguised as a thriller. Grazer plays Joey, a shy kid who gets caught up in a scheme with his brother to get money for their sick mother. However, things go horribly wrong when a security guard ends up trapped by the brothers. Joey is forced to choose between his brother or his own morals, only to be manipulated wherever he goes. Grazer plays Joey’s insecurity well, both in the power he puts behind his voice and his sheepish physicality. Even when Joey finally stands up for himself, Grazer carries his previous performance through to keep the character consistent. WhileDon’t Tell a Soulmay not have a standout story, the acting is well done and fun to watch.

4IT (2017)

One of Grazer’s more popular and notable movie roles, the actor starred as Eddie Kaspbrak in the recent hit adaptation of Stephen King’sIT. Set in the 80s, a group of children in a small town must fight a mythical shape-shifting monster that gives clowns everywhere a bad reputation. The film has become iconic in the world of horror movies. The entire cast of young actors do well in selling such a mature concept of facing your fears while also displaying the vulnerability of being a young child in a scary situation—and Grazer is no exception.
