We’ve known for quite some time thatStar Wars Anthology: Rogue Onewill be shot at London’s Pinewood Studios this summer, but a production start date has never been confirmed. Two separate reports have surfaced this week claiming that shooting is already under way, with starFelicity Jonesfilming her first scene.Making Star Warsreports that several trees have been brought into the studio for a scene involving a ship’s landing in the jungle. But not all of these landing scenes will be shot at Pinewood. There has also been some second unit shooting done with a number of ships including Star Destroyers, along with “some stuff” that looks like it could be theDeath Star, but that has yet to be confirmed.
A separate report from earlier this week claims that shooting onRogue Onehas been under way for the past three weeks, while confirming that jungle scenes are currently being shot. One of these scenes involves a “massive air/ground bombardment,” along with another that is said to be part of a “major action sequence” involvingFelicity Jones. The second report also reveals that there will be some kind of “scene-setting” aboard the Death Star, with the production redressing sets fromStar Wars: The Force Awakens, along with “some familiar and new areas of the Battle Station specifically designed to have fans agog.”

Star Wars Anthology: Rogue Onecenters on a group ofRebel Alliancesoldiers who go on a dangerous mission to steal the plans for the original Death Star. The story is set somewhere betweenStar Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the SithandStar Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, but no further story details were given for thisStar Wars Anthologymovie. The cast also includesRiz Ahmed,Sam Claflin,Diego Luna,Forest Whitaker, withBen Mendelsohnsaid to be the villain, but that has never been confirmed. Little is known about their characters at this time.
