Earlier today, fans got a look at the official costumes for Lionsgate’sPower Rangersreboot, which is currently shooting in Vancouver. While this is our first time seeing the heroes' costumes, we have previously seen photos from the set featuring two different versions ofElizabeth Banksas the villainous Rita Repulsa. It didn’t take some fans long to notice a few striking similarities between the Rangers' andRita Repulsa’s suits, which has lead to a new fan theory that Rita Repulsa is actually the Green Ranger.

AReddituser posted a retouched photo that offers a side-by-side glimpse at one of theElizabeth Banksset photos, compared with an altered version ofNaomi Scott’s Pink Ranger costume. As you’re able to see in the image below, both are quite similar, although not quite identical. Yet it still may be a valid fan theory. Naturally, we don’t expect to get any confirmation until the movie hits theaters on August 14, 2025.

It’s worth noting that the Green Ranger was one of the original heroes in theMighty Morphin Power RangersTV series, but this character wasn’t included in the reboot’s lineup. Thenew Power RangersincludeBecky Gas Yellow Ranger Trini,Ludi Linas Black Ranger Zack,Dacre Montgomeryas Red Ranger Jason,Naomi Scottas Pink Ranger Kimberly, andRJ Cyleras Blue Ranger Billy. There have been rumors that the story begins 65 million years ago, with the Rangers from that era taking on Rita Repulsa, who gets sent through a black hole by the Red Ranger, Zordon, and that the Rangers from 65 million years ago may actually be the same characters from the current seriesPower Rangers: Dino Charge.
