Last night, Inside Amy Schumer creator and starAmy Schumerspoke out about one of her show’s writers,Kurt Metzger, after his controversial comments online. The writer took to his Facebook page to defend comedianAaron Pruner, who was banned from New York improv club Upright Citizen’s Brigade following allegations that he raped andsexually assaultedmultiple women, whichPrunerhas denied. Many fans had askedAmy Schumerto speak out on the matter, and when she did, the comedian’s tweets made it seem like her hit showInside Amy Schumerwas not coming back for a fifth season, but it seems that isn’t the case.

The comedian initially took toTwitterlast night to make it clear she did not condoneKurt Metzger’s actions, revealing she was “saddened and disappointed” in hiscontroversial statement. While she calls him a “friend and great writer,” she also “couldn’t be more against his recent actions.” This is also just the latest in a string of questionable statements he has made online, especially when it comes to victims of sexual assault.

She then revealed that he doesn’t work for her, although he was credited as a writer and an actor on several Season 4 episodes that aired earlier this year. Then she dropped the bombshell that she didn’t fireKurt Metzgerand he isn’t a writer on the show, “because we aren’t making the show anymore.” Since the show was already renewed for Season 5, this statement had fans in an uproar, but the comedian later clarified that the show is just on an extended hiatus. Here’s what she had to say in a series of tweets below.

“#InsideAmySchumer is not cancelled. @ComedyCentral has provided us with a wonderful home and we couldn’t be happier there. I am just touring [and] DoingStandupand focusing on writing more for the next year at least. We are slated for a season 5 but not in the foreseeable future. I’m grateful @ComedyCentral is giving me this time to work on other projects. Now please grab my book #TheGirlWithTheLowerBackTattoo for now[.]”
