A fan-favorite choice for the role ofWonder Womanin James Gunn’s slowly emerging DCU has expressed interest in joining the comic book movie franchise as the Amazonian superhero. At present, little is known about Gunn and his DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran’s plans for Wonder Woman, with the iconic hero glimpsed inanimated form in theCreature Commandosseriesand a prequel series titledParadise Lostreportedly in the works.

The lack of insight into their ideas includes a total lack of knowing who will play Wonder Woman and thus take over from Gal Gadot when the character does make her DCU debut. Well, one fan-casting favorite,Hit ManstarAdria Arjona, has now expressed interest in the coveted role. Footage shared by YouTuber and X/Twitter user @yara_wayne finds Arjona being asked about the potential of her playing Wonder Woman, to which she responds with wide-eyed excitement and saying (in Spanish) “Start writing to him [i.e., James Gunn], help me.”

Wonder Woman Star Still Can’t Believe DC Abandoned a Third Movie

Even the cast of Patty Jenkins’s Wonder Woman reboot series was blindsided by Warner Bros.’s decision to scrap the third film.

Adria Arjona received critical acclaim for her performance alongside Glen Powell inthe Netflix action comedy,Hit Man, which now stands at 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. The actress is also best recognized for roles in the likes ofPacific Rim Uprising, 6 Underground, Blink Twice, andMorbiuson the big screen, as well asNarcos, True Detective, Good Omens, and theStar WarsseriesAndoron the small screen. Based on her work so far, it’s not hard to see why Arjona has emerged as a favorite for Wonder Woman, and no doubt she would excel if chosen to join David Corenswet’s Superman in the DCU.
