The final look atGodzilla: King of the Monstersis here. Legendary has provided us with one more good look at the sequel before they unleash it next week. We’re looking at a minute of intense, action-packed, name checking footage here, which looks over the top even while looking at it on a computer screen. It seems like director Michael Dougherty threw everything that he could into the monster movie and fans are definitely going to want to see this final tease.
The promotional campaign forGodzilla: King of the Monstershas been pretty clever over the past several months. The studio has waited quite a while to unveil all of the monsters, but they’re all here now and it looks like Earth is pretty much doomed. Godzilla, thethree-headed King Ghidorah, the giant insect Mothra, and another flying monster, Rodan, are all given some screen time in the final look at the sequel. Each one of their names uttered by the cast as they look on in awe.
Godzilla: King of the Monstersfollows the heroic efforts of thecrypto-zoological agency Monarchas its members face off against some god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species, thought to be mere myths, rise again, they all battle for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance. From the looks of all the footage, Earth is going to get a lot worse before it can get better as the monsters attempt to fight it out. This one looks like seeing it on the big screen is a must.
Michael Doughertysays the humans are “overreacting” to the Godzilla situation, which is something the human race tends to do when faced with a collective tragedy or horrific event. While people have known about Godzilla for a long time, there has been an underlying paranoia about the existence of more monsters like him, which comes to a head inGodzilla: King of the Monsters. The fear of more monsters was nothing compared to the current reality facing the Earth as a whole, which could be destroyed by the battle between the monsters.
Michael Dougherty directedGodzilla: King of the Monstersfrom a script he wrote along with Zach Shields from a story by Max Borenstein. The story is based on the characters Godzilla, King Ghidorah, Mothra, and Rodan, who were created by Toho Co. The movie was produced by Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, and Brian Rogers, with Zach Shields, Barry Waldman, Hiro Matsuoka, Keiji Ota, Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Yoshimitsu Banno and Kenji Okuhira serving as executive producers, and Ali Mendes and Jay Ashenfelter co-producing for Legendary.
