The premiere date for the fifth and final season ofFuller Househas been revealed. According to a new report from TVLine, the Netflix series will premiere the first half of its final season on Friday, Dec. 6. A YouTube video from Netflix previewing their new content for December also confirms the series will be returning to the streaming service next month, includingFuller Houseamong other Netflix Originals likeThe Two PopesandMarriage Story. Fuller Housefinished filming just last week, with many of the show’s starssharing photos and memories on social media. “When every single network and streamer said no to aFull Housere-boot, (and I mean ALL of them) Netflix said yes!” John Stamos wrote in an Instagram post, expressing his gratitude for everyone involved in revisiting the series. The Uncle Jesse actor also posted several behind-the-scenes photos from the show’s production, many of which included ousted actressLori Loughlin. While it will be a bit odd to see Aunt Becky completely absent from the final season, it won’t be too much stranger than seeing aFull Housespin-off find success without the involvement of the Olsen Twins.
Aside from Michelle Tanner, all of the original cast members fromFull Housewere able to reprise their roles for the spin-off series. The new story brought D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure), Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin), and Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) to the forefront by having them move into the old Tanner household in San Francisco. Aunt Becky (Lori Loughlin), Uncle Jesse (John Stamos), Uncle Joey (Dave Coulier), and Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) also regularly made special guest appearances throughout the series. Also featured as the new children of the series are D.J.’s sons Jackson (Michael Campion), Max (Elias Harger), and Tommy Jr. (Dashiell & Fox Messitt), along with Kimmy’s daughter Ramona (Soni Nicole Bringas).
ManyFuller Housefans may be sad to see the series go, but lasting for five seasons onNetflixcan be seen as a big success these days. No series is guaranteed, and the streaming company has become notorious for axing some of their best original shows prematurely. This includes two of their most popular shows inSanta Clarita DietandMarvel’s Daredevil, each of which got the boot after just three seasons despite immense popularity. By theend of season 5,Fuller Housewill have been given 75 episodes across the span of five seasons. That’s something to be quite happy about when the alternative is to have gotten no show at all.
