The Future of DC on Television
Last year was not a great one for DC, at least when it comes to movies and tv shows, such as it wasn’t for the rest of the Warner Discovery assets. After the merger, the company is going through some profound changes, and the comic books brand will be a significant part of them. With the creation of DC Studios, run by James Gunn and Peter Safran, some stars, such as Henry Cavill and Dwayne Johnson, have been left out from the future of the shared universe.
Nowadays, it’s uncertain who will remain, with shows likeTitans,Doom Patrol, andPeacemakerstill running. However, when it comes to The CW, onlyStargirlandSuperman & Loisare still on their feet, with the latter building its way far from the Arrowverse when it made its debut in 2016. Whether DC Studios decides to follow in Marvel’s footsteps with their own original series connecting to blockbuster films remains to be seen. However, the new management could choose to do away with the Arrowverse and DC’s presence on The CW entirely.
