Last week,Marvelannounced thatprincipal photographyhas begun on the highly-anticipated Phase Three sequelGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, with filming taking place in Atlanta. We knew it wouldn’t be long until photos started flooding in from the set, and just yesterday, actress Karen Gillan teased her blue-skinned look as Nebula on her Twitter account. Today we have even more photos courtesy ofThe Daily Mail, which give us a better look atChris Prattas Star-Lord,Zoe Saldanaas Gamora andKaren Gillan. Unfortunately, there isn’t too much we can glean about the story from these pictures, but they’re well worth a look.

The film marks the return of the originalGuardians, includingChris Pratt(Jurassic World,Guardians of the Galaxy) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord;Zoe Saldana(Guardians of the Galaxy,Star Trek Into Darkness) as Gamora;Dave Bautista(Spectre,Guardians of the Galaxy) as Drax;Vin Diesel(Guardians of the Galaxy,Furious 7) as the voice of Groot;Bradley Cooper(Joy,American Sniper) as the voice of Rocket;Michael Rooker(Guardians of the Galaxy,Jumper) as Yondu;Karen Gillan(Guardians of the Galaxy,The Big Short) as Nebula; andSean Gunn(Guardians of the Galaxy,Gilmore Girls) as Kraglin. Unfortunately, we haven’t gotten much information regarding who these new cast members are playing. Writer-directorJames Gunnhas confirmed thatPom Klementieffis playing Mantis, and it is believed thatKurt Russellis playing Star-Lord’s father.James Gunnhas said in the past that this sequel will reveal who Star-Lord’s mysterious dad was, stating it would not be the same person from the comics, J’son.

Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2,Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage.Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2is produced byMarvelStudios' president,Kevin Feige, withLouis D’Esposito,Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Nikolas Korda andStan Leeserving as executive producers. The originalGuardians of the Galaxywas a hit with critics and audiences alike, earning over $770 million at the worldwide box-office, and holds the record as the most successful debut film in theMarvel Cinematic Universe. In addition, the film’s soundtrack went platinum and was nominated for a Grammy.

In the originalGuardians of the Galaxy, Nebula was one of the villains, who had a contentious relationship with her sister Gamora. There have been rumors that both Nebula and Yondu (Michael Rooker) will actually join the Guardians themselves, which could make things very interesting for this unique group.
