Ever sincePaul Feigstarted shooting his female-drivenGhostbustersreboot, the director has revealed a number of photos and details from the set. He gave fans the first look at theproton packsthat starsKristen Wiig,Melissa McCarthy,Kate McKinnonandLeslie Joneswill be using, and he even teased that the beloved ghostSlimerwill return. Yesterday, the filmmaker took to hisTwitterpage once again to confirm the main character names, Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig), Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy), Jillian Holtzman (Kate McKinnon) and Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones).

These names are fairly close to what was revealed in a report last month, which claimed thatKristen Wiig’s character was Erin Gabler andMelissa McCarthywas Abby Bergman. The report correctly stated thatKate McKinnonandLeslie Joneswere playing characters named Jillian and Patty, but their last names were not given at that time. Unfortunately,Paul Feigdid not confirm any of theplot detailsthat were also mentioned in that report.

If these details are true, the story centers on Erin and Abby, who, several years ago, wrote a book together that claims ghosts are real. In present day, Erin manages to land a teaching job at the prestigious Columbia University, but shortly thereafter, her book is discovered, bringing her academic career to a screeching halt. Erin ends up teaming back up with Abby, who is still hunting ghosts with a new partner, Jillian, just as a new slew of ghosts start to invade New York City. The last main character, Patty, is reportedly an MTA employee who comes face-to-face with the movie’s main ghost.
