August is that tricky time of year. It’s not quite fall yet, but summer is on its way out. That can make planning activities for the remainder of the warm season a little challenging. But if you’re here reading this article, chances are you’re more of a stay-inside-and-stream kind of person. No judgment either way.
Peacockhas had a pretty successful 2023 TV lineup so far. They started the year with abang via the hitPoker Face.The hits continued throughout the spring and summer, with standoutsBased on a True Storyand the upcomingTwisted Metal. Even Pete Davidson’sBupkis,where he breaks out of typecasting by literally playing Pete Davidson, was an unexpected hit. The fall looks to be lucrative as well, with the John Wick prequelThe Continentalset for a September bow.

Killing It Season 2 - August 17
The sole returningPeacock original series in August isthe Craig Robinson-ledKilling It. We’ll bring you up to speed here in case of any necessary binging before the new season drops.
Craig Foster wants to become an entrepreneur, but for the time being, he has to contend with his job as a bank security guard. He’s fired from his bank job after his criminal brother Isaiah robs the place. Craig’s luck only gets worse when he loses his apartment, and his car is destroyed in a fire.

While traveling to a loan meeting, Craig’s Uber driver Jillian attempts to kill a python, as she apparently has a side job of removing invasive snakes. One problem, the snake’s not dead, and it attacks Craig. He manages to kill it and learns about a python hunting challenge from Jillian with a $20,000 prize. Craig does not get the loan he needs and realizes the python challenge may be his best bet for solving his money problems.

Of thesecond season, Robinson noted,
“Well, we’re back for moreKilling It. It’s the same wild rollercoaster as last year — an ambitious, complex exploration of life and pursuit of the American Dream mixed in with some of the stupidest jokes on television. We got so many amazing guest stars this season, while returning all our old favorites. Except for the snakes. There are many less snakes this year. But don’t worry, there’s plenty more hurdles to jump through, like deadly snails.”
Throughout the first season, arrests are made, threats are levied, and more than a few dead bodies pop up. Craig Robinson leads an all-star cast as the down-on-his-luck security guard-turned-python wrangler (now that’s a job title) Craig Foster. Actress Claudia O’Doherty of Netflix’sLoveis Jillian Glopp, Craig’s Uber driver and fellow snake wrangler.
Actor Rell Battle portrays Isaiah Foster, Craig’s brother, who instigates the events that get him fired. Scott MacArthur ofNo Hard Feelingsis Brock, a professional influencer and python hunter who teams up with Craig. Stephanie Nogueras is Craig’s estranged wife, Camille.
Other characters include Wyatt Walter as Corby, Brock’s son and camera operator. Jet Miller is Vanessa, the daughter of Craig and Camille. Tim Heidecker, better known as the Tim ofTim & Eric,is motivational speaker Rodney LaMonca. Actor Zach Grenier rounds out the key players as insurance agent Tim Gallant. Dot-Marie Jones, Katie Kershaw, Joe Massingill, Melanie Field, Tim Simons, Fatimah Taliah, Beck Bennett, and Kyle Mooney are set to join the ensemble in season 2.
Viewers can check out Craig’s hopefully above-board business dealings when the second season drops on August 17.
Chris Fleming: Hell - August 18
We’re cheating a bit here, as this one’s not technically a series. Chris Fleming is a comedian best known for his bizarre YouTube seriesGaylecentering on his eponymous character of Gayle Waters-Waters.

Fleming’s bringing his “unique” brand of comedy to Peacock for an upcoming stand-up special. Reportedly “immersive” and “one-of-a-kind,” an officialPeacock release notesthat “CHRIS FLEMING: HELL explores performance anxiety through surreal comedy, sketches, and more.” Throughout the special, Fleming incorporates musical comedy, anecdotes, and absurdism to take the audience on a journey of what makes a stage performer.
Fans of Fleming’s eccentricities can check out his new Peacock special when it drops on August 18.
