While chatting withTheWrapin an interview conducted prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike, starStephanie Beatrizdiscussed her new Peacock seriesTwisted Metaland shared her thoughts on the possibility of aEncantosequel, revealing that she “love” the chance to reprise her Disney character.
Encantois an animated family film starring Beatriz as Mirabel, María Cecilia Botero as Abuela Alma, John Leguizamo as Bruno, Mauro Castillo as Félix, Jess Darrow as Luisa, Angie Cepeda as Julieta, Carolina Gaitan as Pepa, Diane Guerrero as Isabela, Wilmer Valderrama as Agustín, Rhenzy Feliz as Camilo, Ravi Cabot-Conyers as Antonio, Adassa as Dolores, and Maluma as Mariano.

The official synopsis forEncantosays, “Walt Disney Animation Studios’Encantotells the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia, in a magical housr, in a vibrant town, in a wondrous, charmed place called an Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift from super strength to the power to heal–every child except one, Mirabel (voice of Stephanie Beatriz). But when she discovers that the madic surrounding the Encanto is in danger, Mirabel decides that she, the only ordinary Madrigal, might just be her exceptional family’s last hope.”
While speaking about the animated Disney movie, Beatriz told the outlet that she was excited about the possibility of reuniting with her character.

Stephanie Beatriz Said “That Team on That Film Was So Incredible To Work With”
The Brooklyn Nine-Ninestar said, “I would love to work with them again. That team on that film was so incredible to work with that. I think a lot of [Jared Bush and Byron Howard’s] time right noe is being taken up by other stuff. I know Jared and I think Byron too are working on the secondZootopiaright now. But I would love to work with them again.”
Beatriz also added that she is a “huge” fan of Disney.
TheIn theHeightsstar said, “I got to the parks a lot and whenever people recognize me they ask about that too. So I know fans of the film are really, really eager to know if it’s gonna get a sequel, I would love to do that. I think there’s a ton of story to be told and there’s so many people that would love to see that, but I haven’t heard jack s***.”
Despite there being no official word on a sequel for the animated family film, the outlet noted that Disney CEO Bob Iger calledEncantoa “Disney franchise” on a prior earnings call.
Encantoreleased in theaters back on July 29, 2025 and ended up grossing $94.7 million domestically and $237 million worldwide. Following the Disney movie’s theatrical release, the film’s song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” became a Billboard 100 hit.
Fans of Beatriz can catch the starplaying Quiet on Peacock’s new seriesTwisted Metal(an adaptation of the PlayStation video game of the same name) which premiered on July 27th.
