Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessmade a triumphant homecoming to Disney+ last week, having a bigger debut thanEternalsfollowing its hugely successful theatrical run. Despite losing out on being the biggest selling movie of the year toTop Gun: Maverick, there has been plenty of love shown for Stephen Strange’s latest outing, and for his co-starElizabeth Olsen’s return as Wanda Maximoff. However, with the movie seeming to bring about the end of Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, the actress has commented on the numerous rumors of her still being in line to get her own solo movie in the future.

Elizabeth Olsen made her full debut inAvengers: Age of Ultronin 2015, when Wanda Maximoff went from being a villain in legion with the James Spader-voiced bad guy Ultron to the newest member of the Avengers team. Having gone on to form a relationship with Vision, being devastated at having to both kill him and watch him be killed again by Thanos inAvengers: Infinity War, and going on a journey of grief and self-discovery inWandaVision, Olsen’s character has had a complex journey. After becoming the villain again inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, her demise seemed to come at her own hands in the film’s finale, although no one quite believes that to be true.

In that respect, Olsen recently reacted to news of a possible MCU future in her own movie or as part of theWandaVisionspin-offAgatha: House of Harknesswhile appearing onGood Morning America. She said:

“I would love to be a part of both of those. No one tells me anything, and I’m not even hiding a secret because I’m bad at that. I know nothing about my future.”

Elizabeth Olsen Will Likely Return to the MCU Again

While there are usually no deaths certain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a death that is only hinted at and not explicitly put on screen is even less certain. With Wanda’s final moment seeming to be a flash of scarlet amongst crumbling rock, it is probably one of the easiest “deaths” to explain away. Recently,Marvel producer Richie Palmerseemed to confirm that Wanda still has much to do with the MCU’s future when he called her the “jewel in the crown” of Phase 4.

With the multiverse is going to be a big part of the next decade of Marvel’s movies and TV shows, there are many other versions of Wanda potentially out there, but while Marvel have done a character reset of sorts before with Loki, it seems unlikely they would want to lose Wanda’s journey so far by bringing in an alternative version of her from another universe. Whether we find out anything more about Scarlet Witch’s future when Kevin Feige reveals the next phase soon is something that we will just have to wait to find out.

In the meantime, you can now see all of Elizabeth Olsen’s performances to date on Disney+, along with the rest of the Marvel saga.
