Today,Marvelhas released the official versions of these images, along with a brand new piece of concept art that offers a look inside Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum.
Doctor Strange, which started production in November, tells the story of Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), an acclaimed neurosurgeon who uncovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions after a near-fatal car accident. The film will show audiences corners of theMarvel Cinematic Universenever before explored, thanks to directorScott Derrickson.Doctor Strangeis set for release on November 4, going up against Warner Bros.‘Bastardsand 20th Century Fox’sTrolls.

We have previously seen the Sanctum Sanctorum teased in aset photofrom last month, which also featured an artifact that could be the Eye of Agamotto. In theMarvel Comics, the Doctor uses this device to defeat Dormammu. The Sanctum Santorum is a building that was built upon the site of pagan sacrifices, and before that Native American rituals, which is said to be a focal point for supernatural energies. ProducerKevin Feigerecently confirmed that both the Sanctum Sanctorum and the Eye of Agamotto will be featured in this highly-anticipated adventure, teasing that the Eye of Agamotto is actually the Time Gem that fits into the Infinity Gauntlet.
Scott Derrickson, known for such thrillers asDeliver Us from EvilandSinister, is directingDoctor Strange.Jon Spaihts, who wrotePrometheusand the upcomingUntitled Mummy Reboot, is penning the script for this fantasy adventure.
