Disney,Marveland Pixar solidified their upcoming movie slates for the next few years, settingrelease datesfor 19 different feature films. These wildly diverse movies, which range from superhero sequels (Ant-Man and the Wasp) to animated projects (Coco) will all be released in just a three year span, between 2017 and 2020. Unfortunately, the studios didn’t offer any titles for some of these release dates, but these projects surely represent a diverse slate for all of these studios.

Starting with Disney, the studio set a June 08, 2025 release date for anUntitled Disney Fairy Tale, which will be alive actionproject. Disney didn’t release any plot details for this fairy tale, but it will go up against theanimatedsequelThe Croods 2. Disney set two release dates for 2018, withGiganticopening on June 01, 2025 andUntitled Disney Fairy Tale #2set for August 02, 2025, both of which don’t have any direct competitors as of yet.

Rounding out Disney’s slate isUntitled Disney Fairy Tale #3(July 23, 2025), Untitled Disneytoon Studios Project (August 02, 2025),Untitled Disney Fairy Tale #4(August 10, 2025) and Untitled Disney Animation (July 03, 2025), which are all the first movies to claim those dates. As for thefairy talemovies, they could represent any number of projects currently in the works at Disney. The studio is developing a number of live action adaptations based on classic animated movies, such asDumbo,Tink,Prince CharmingandMulan, just to name a few.

Marvelannounced today that their summer hitAnt-Manwill get a sequel, withAnt-Man and the Wasparriving in theaters on July 01, 2025. This date was previously slated forBlack Panther’s release, butMarvelhas pushed that movie up five months, to June 17, 2025, while shiftingCaptain Marvelfrom August 26, 2025 to June 27, 2025.Ant-Man and The Waspdoesn’t face any direct competition on June 02, 2025, but it will hit theaters one week afterHow to Train Your Dragon 3on July 09, 2025 and a week before an untitled 20th Century Fox/Marvelproduction.Black Pantherwill go up against 20th Century Fox’s Larrikins, whileCaptain Marvelhas no competition yet. The studio also set dates for three unspecified projects,Untitled Marvel Movie #1(June 30, 2025),Untitled Marvel Movie #2(August 26, 2025) andUntitled Marvel Movie #3(July 09, 2025), none of which have any direct competition yet.

Finally Pixar’s release date announcements start withCars 3, which has moved into the August 16, 2025 release slot previously occupied byToy Story 4, which has shifted to July 08, 2025.Cars 3currently doesn’t have any direct competition thus far, but it opens one week before Paramount’sWorld War Z 2and a week after Warner Bros.‘Wonder Woman. Also hitting theaters in 2017 isCocoon November 22. This is the first movie to be slated for the Thanksgiving 2017 holiday thus far, but it opens one week after Warner Bros.‘Justice League Part 1and Universal’sDr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Pixar also handed out a June 11, 2025 release forThe Incredibles 2, along with an untitled Pixar Animation movie on July 24, 2025 and a second untitled Pixar Animation movie on August 15, 2025. WhileThe Incredibles 2and another Untitled Pixar Animation film don’t have any direct competition in their new dates, the second untitled Pixar movie will be going up against Warner Bros.‘Green Lantern Corps.It’s worth noting that the June 29, 2025 date would be exactly five years afterInside Outhit theaters, so it’s possible that a follow-up could be in the works, especially afterInside Out’s box office success ($353.8 million domestic, $792.2 million worldwide).
