The streamer will release one ofDenzel Washington’s best action thriller sequels,The Equalizer 2, onto the platform on Christmas Day. Meaning that those wanting to avoid, or perhaps just take a break, from all the festivities will be able to sit back and watch the Hollywood icon deliver justice the only way he knows how: with his fists.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua,The Equalizer 2sees the filmmaker reunite with Washington following the 2014 action outingThe Equalizer. Based on the TV series of the same name, the follow-up stars Denzel Washington in the lead role alongside Pedro Pascal, Ashton Sanders, Melissa Leo, Bill Pullman, and Orson Bean, and follows the violent avenger as he embarks on righting wrongs and getting revenge after his friend is murdered.The Equalizer 2will be available to stream on Prime Video from December 25, and you can check out the official synopsis below.

The Equalizer 4 With Denzel Washington Teased by Franchise Writer

The Equalizer writer Richard Wenk reveals he has been “tasked” with figuring out how to bring the action franchise back for more.

The Equalizer 3was met with the best reviews of the franchise, landing a score of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes against the first movie’s 61% andThe Equalizer 2’s“rotten” 52%. While we all thought it was over, Denzel Washington recently revealed thatanother two movies are now in the works.

“I told them I would do another Equalizer, and we’re doing four and five. More people are happy about that—people love those daggone Equalizers, but I’ve come to realize that the Equalizer films are for me, too, because they’re for the people. They want me to go get the bad guys. ‘We can’t get them, so you go get them.’ And I say, Okay, I’ll get them! Just wait right there. I’ll be right back!”

Washington is absolutely right that we would watch him “get the bad guys” until the end of time, so it’s great to know that the 69-year-old actorhas no plans to give upon the action just yet.
