It’s been awhile since we’ve seen anything from 20th Century Fox’s highly-anticipated superhero adaptationDeadpool, with starRyan Reynoldsreleasing ahigh-flying photoback in August. This morning, the actor shared yet another image through hisTwitteraccount, which shows the Merc With the Mouth trying to connect to today’s youth, specifically,Brianna Hildebrand’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead, by doing some light reading. The photo features both characters taking shelter behind a vehicle that’s been turned on its side, withDeadpoolreadingJudy Blume’sAre You There God? It’s Me, Margaret.
While we don’t know for sure at what point in thesuperhero moviethis image is from, it appears to be in the aftermath of the highway shootout scene that fans saw in theDeadpool trailerreleased at Comic-Con this summer. The turned-over vehicle seems to be a dead giveaway, but, then again, one would think there may not be enough time to catch up on some reading when machine gun-toting bad guys are gunning for you. One thing is for certain, though, Negasonic Teenage Warhead hardly seems impressed byDeadpool’s choice of reading material.

Based uponMarvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero,Deadpooltells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenaryWade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter egoDeadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor,Deadpoolhunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
The supporting cast includesMorena Baccarinas Wade’s girlfriend Vanessa Carlyle, a.k.a. Copycat,Gina Caranoas Angel Dust,Ed Skreinas Ajax,T.J. Milleras Wesel,Andre Tricoteuxas Colossus andLeslie Uggamsas Blind Al. There have been rumors thatHugh Jackmanmay have a cameo as Wolverine, but that has not been confirmed at this time. There has also been a rumor that 20th Century Fox is moving forward withDeadpool 2, in place of a sequel to this summer’s box office bomb,Fantastic Four.
