Why Booster Gold is the Perfect Character for Chris Pratt to Play in the DCU?
Although the tweet generated many comments with a wide variety of options for potential characters that Pratt could play in the newDCU,Booster Goldis still the one that fans mention the most, and without a doubt it is one of the characters that best fits Pratt’s personality and his work with Gunn, in addition to the obvious physical resemblance.
Booster Gold first appeared in 1986, created by Dan Jurgens. Michael Jon Carter, his real name, was born in Gotham City in the 25th century, and has a complicated family history. As a child he was abandoned by his father, a man addicted to gambling who lost all the family’s money. Years later, he reappeared in his life when Michael was a star football player, convincing him to lose games to win money with bets, for which he was later expelled from the university.
After getting a job as a night guard at a museum, Michael learns about superheroes thanks to an exhibition, from which he steals devices that were used by them. There he also finds Rip Hunter’s time machine, which he uses to travel to the past and become a superhero himself thanks to the futuristic technology he stole.
