There have been some moments in these newHalloweenfilms that have fans wondering if there are supernatural elements at play with this incarnation of Michael Myers. Speaking about the situation in an interview withTheWrap, Green, who co-wrote all three films in the trilogy, says he doesn’t see the character as supernatural. At the same time, he likes keeping it ambiguous enough to have fans continuing the debate, even if he personally just feels Michael is one particularly tough mass murderer.
“I mean, I’m just not the guy for that, but when I would show early cuts of the movie to people, sometimes they’d be like, ‘Oh, this is a transference of evil.’ You know these things that you’re like, ‘No, not literally.’ I mean, the answer is yes and no. Sure it is if that’s what you see in it. I love that. I love interpretation. In fact, I think the Halloween franchise in a lot of senses thrives on ambiguity. Michael Myers’ background, for example. I like the fact that there are those conversations. I don’t think he does anything that’s supernatural. I just think he does things that are spectacular and resilient.”

Halloween Ends Will Bring a Conclusion to the Laurie Strode vs. Michael Myers Saga
Green co-wroteHalloween Endswith Paul Brad Logan, Chris Bernier, and Danny McBride. The sequel stars Jamie Lee Curtis, James Jude Courtney, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, Rohan Campbell, and Kyle Richards. There are no plans for any more movies in the franchise to be made at Blumhouse and this has been written as a sendoff for Curtis in her role as Laurie Strode.
“Her character’s traveled through my whole life, and then at a point I just became the shepherd, so it was fun to inherit that character, take her on the journey I wanted to go on with her, and then saying goodbye to her,” Green recently said of ending Laurie’s journey with Curtis, viaYahoo. “I do feel confident that we are saying goodbye to Jamie playing Laurie in the universe. At some point someone will maybe bring a new Laurie into something, some twist will happen, and the mythology will continue, but I do feel like this is the last time we’re going to see her nervous smile and those fun enlightening attributes of Laurie Strode.”
