The Defendershas wrapped filming, but some set photos are still making their way online. Even with thefirst teaserbeing released by Netflix recently, we haven’t really seen any photos featuring Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) in the full Daredevil costume. Until now that is. A handful of new images show everyone’s favorite blind superhero suited up and ready for action, but in a pretty odd setting.
These newDefendersset photos come courtesy of the Marvel Netflix ThailandTwitteraccount and in them, we get to see Daredevil in the costume we’ve become quite familiar with. Though, in bothDaredevilseason 1 and 2, we typically see him in the dead of night or in poorly lit hallways. In these photos, we see the hero hanging out in a very well lit lobby that looks like it might be a hotel. This is definitely different than what we are used to seeing, but that is probably a good thing. It could mean we’ll be seeing Matt Murdock doing some things we’re not used to seeing him do inThe Defenders, which will be nice.
Now thatIron Fisthas been released,The Defendersis the next big thing to really look forward to. This series is going to be the culmination of all of the solo Marvel shows that Netflix has produced. It will essentially beThe Avengersof this Netflix corner of the Marvel Universe.Iron Fistwasn’t met positively by critics, but the show was embraced by fans, much likeDaredevil,Jessica JonesandLuke Cagebefore it. That puts a lot of pressure on Netflix to deliver withThe Defenders, but there is no reason to think they will drop the ball here.
Details onThe Defendershave been pretty minimal so far, but Netflix recently released the first teaser trailer for the series, which did not feature Daredevil in the costume. The four central heroes were all crammed into an elevator heading to an unknown destination, but we can guess that they are on their way to teach some bad guys a lesson. Even though nobody speaks in the teaser, it is pretty cool to see all of these characters who protect Hell’s Kitchen assembled together. But it also finally revealed thatThe Defendersis going to hit the streaming platform in August.
It was recently revealed byCharlie CoxthatDaredevilseason 3 is going to start filming later this year, so we can bet on seeing a whole lot more of him in the suit in the future.
