Dakota Fanninghas been in the industry since a young child, starring in productions such asI Am Sam,Charlotte’s Web,The Secret Life of Bees, andCoraline. While her performances in those were exceptional, many fans of her generation remember her as Jane Volturi, a guard of the Volturi (a royal vampire family) inThe Twilight Saga. Unlike some actors, Fanning seems to likebeing involved in a wide variety of projectsin different genres. Her latest role is in the upcoming Peacock mystery thriller,All Her Fault, which starsSarah Snook(Succession)playing a mom living in a parent’s worst nightmare.
According to the official press release, Snook will play Marissa Irvine, a mom who “arrives to collect her young son Milo from his first playdate, but the woman who answers the door isn’t a mother she recognizes. She doesn’t have Milo and has never heard of him. And so begins every parent’s worst nightmare.” Fanning is playing Marissa’s friend, Jenny, the mother of the boy who was supposed to be on a playdate with Milo.Peacockalso released a first-look image that shows how distraught Irvine’s character is while sitting on a couch with her arms folded, looking directly at Fanning’s character, who is sitting on the floor. They appear to be in the middle of a conversation.

All Her Faultwill premiere on Peacock on November 6, starting with four episodes. After that, two new episodes will be released every Thursday through November 20. Alongside FanningandSnook, the series will star Jake Lacy, Michael Peña, Sophia Lillis, Abby Elliott, Daniel Monks, Jay Ellis (Insecure,Top Gun: Maverick), Thomas Cocquerel, Duke McCloud, and Kartiah Vergara. Megan Gallagher (Wolf,Suspicion) serves as the series creator, writer, and executive producer with Nigel Marchant, Gareth Neame, and Joanna Strevens for Carnival Films (The Day of the Jackal,Downton Abbey), Sarah Snook, Minkie Spiro, Christine Sacani, and Jennifer Gabler Rawlings also executive producing.
Dakota Fanning’s Mystery Thriller Is Based on a Book
The mystery thriller is produced by Carnival Films and distributed by NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution. It is based on the novel of the same name by Andrea Mara, who also serves as associate producer.All Her Fault, the novel, was originally published on August 21, 2025, and has a 4.1 rating on Goodreads. According to a 2024 Variety article,Peacock ordered alimited series (straight-to-series order) for the television adaptation. The book highlights one missing boy and four guilty women. The description on Goodreads also states, “As news of the disappearance filters through the quiet Dublin suburbs and an unexpected suspect is named, whispers start to spread about the women most closely connected to the shocking event. Because only one of them may have taken Milo — but they could all be blamed.”
All Her Faultisn’t the only production starring Fanning that will be released this year. Her horror film,Vicious, which was initially supposed to be released in theaters, will premiere at Fantastic Fest in September. It will also be available tostream on Paramount+on October 10 after being removed from Paramount Pictures' theatrical release calendar, according toThe Hollywood Reporter. Fanning plays Polly, someone who receives a not-so-normal gift from a mysterious late-night visitor and is trapped in another world.

All Her Fault’s first four episodes will premiere on Peacock on November 6.
