Following the tragic passing ofMatthew Perry, hisFriendsco-starCourteney Coxhas now taken to social media to pay tribute to the actor and shared a hilarious clip from behind-the-scenes of their time on the sitcom. Perry sadly died on October 28 after being found unresponsive at his home in Los Angeles. Cox has now reacted to his passing, saying she will miss herFriendsco-star “every day.”

“I am so grateful for every moment I had with you Matty and I miss you every day. When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share. For now here’s one of my favorites.”

Cox then offered some context to the behind-the-scenes clip she shared, revealing that the relationship between her character, Monica, and Perry’s character, Chandler, started life with the intention of being just a one-night stand. She then revealedhow funny Perry was, both on screen and behind-the-scenes, often giving funny lines to his co-stars.

“To give a little backstory, Chandler and Monica were supposed to have a one night fling in London. But because of the audience’s reaction, it became the beginning of their love story. In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say. He often did things like that. He was funny and he was kind.”

Cox and Perry starred inFriendsthroughout the show, which began in 1994 and came to an end in 2004 after 10 seasons.

Cox’s personal tribute to Perry comesfollowing a joint statementthat was released by theFriendscast, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer.

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just castmates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.”

Actor Matt LeBlanchas also now released a personal statement. LeBlanc of course starred as Joey Tribbiani throughout the show and was the best friend and roommate of Perry’s Chandler Bing.

“Matthew. It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life. It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love. And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.”

Perry’s cause of death has now been listed as “deferred” by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, pending “additional investigative steps”.
