Several set images from (one of) the upcoming Marvel sequels,Captain America: New World Order, have revealed that Anthony Mackie’s superhero will get a new suit and that WWE star Seth Rollins will join the MCU as a villain. WWE superstar Seth Rollins meanwhile can be seen wearing what appears to be a modernized, grounded version of the kinds of costumes worn by The Serpent Society. A villainous, snake-themed organization of supervillains, The Serpent Society has been an enemy of Captain America for decades and wereintended to be the main antagonistsin the thirdCaptain Americaouting before it was transformed into 2016’sCaptain America: Civil War.
The inclusion of The Serpent Society is the first hint of plot that we have gotten forCaptain America: New World Order, as details largely remain under wraps. Directed by Julius Onah and written by Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson,Captain America: New World Orderis expected to pick up following the events of the Disney+ seriesThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier, exploring how taking on the mantle of Captain America has affected Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson.

Captain America: New World Order Will Feature Harrison Ford as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross
The fourthCaptain Americaadventure will seeIndiana JonesandStar WarsactorHarrison Ford taking on the roleof Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. Ford steps into the role following the passing of Academy Award-winning actor William Hurt, who played the character throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe and was last seen in 2021’sBlack Widow.
Not only willCaptain America: New World Orderfeature Thunderbolt Ross, it will act as something of a reunion for characters from the 2008 Marvel effortThe Incredible Hulk. TheCaptain Americasequel is all setto bring back Liv Tyleras the scientist Betty Ross alongside Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns, who is expected to have transformed into the supervillain The Leader. How exactly these characters will factor into the plot is unknown, but it sounds like Sam Wilson’s Captain America will have a lot to deal with in his first solo outing.
Captain America: New World Orderwill be released as part of Phase Five of the MCU alongside the likes ofThunderboltswhich will follow a group of heroes and antiheroes, including Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Red Guardian (David Harbour), and Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko). Thunderbolts will then be followed by the reboot ofBlade, starring Mahershala Ali as the Daywalker alongside Delroy Lindo, Aaron Pierre, and Mia Goth. On the small screen, Phase 5 will see the likes ofSecret Invasion, Loki, Echo, Ironheart, Agatha: Coven of Chaos,andDaredevil: Born Againreleased on Disney+.
