Captain America: Brave New Worldwill formally introduce Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) as the new Captain America to the world early next year, after picking up the mantle in Disney+‘sFalcone and the Winter Solider. And his first supervillain won’t be easy, and it’s safe to say the original super-powered Steve Rogers would have had issues dealing with him.Brave New Worldfeatures Sam Wilson’s Cap battling Red Hulk, played by Harrison Ford, whoalready seems like a formidable foe. For Wilson to go head-to-head against the angry gamma-infused President of the United States, he’ll need to strategically ensure Red Hulk doesn’t crush him.
During an interview withEntertainment Weekly,Captain America: Brave New Worldand veteran Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore revealed that the film had to get creative to have Sam Wilson fight one-on-one with Red Hulk. As seen in theprevious trailers, Captain America sports a new superhero suit and vibranium wings, as well as some neat tricks up his sleeves. Despite the upgrades, Wilson will still have to dodge the majority of Red Hulk’s punches, and block them occasionally with his newly-minted wings.Spoiler alert: He does not take a super soldier serum, so he’ll really feel it when he does get hit.

“We had to choreograph the fight sequences to allow him to constantly be using those as, basically, two additional limbs so that he can take the Hulk punches from time to time, but he does everything he can to avoid those anyway. You’ll see it in the action sequence; it’s not fun when he gets hit.”
Many fans wondered what aBrave New Worldwould be about when a bevy of villains, including Red Hulk, the Leader, andthe Serpent Society, were announced. Moreover, some doubted if Sam Wilson would find a feasible way to fight them without being a super-powered individual. Now, it’s still kinda unclear whatBrave New Worldtitle refers to, but at least it’s clear the film is not shying away from Captain America’s weaknesses, and is instead converting them into a strength of his. Even if it hurts.

‘Captain America 4’ Ushers in a New World Order (& Hulk)
Captain America: Brave New Worldhas faced a bevy of behind-the-scenes development stories, includingreportedly extensive reshoots that continued earlier this month. It seems Marvel Studios, after several big-screen misfires as of late, is determined to getBrave New Worldas polished as possible. The film is set to partially reset the status quo in the MCU, as a new Captain America now protects the world, and U.S. Presidents can now be giant red balls of anger (okay, maybe not so different). President Ross (Harrison Ford) aka Red Hulk seems to be a major factor in the upcoming film, and could become an even more important figure in the MCU moving forward. After all, he won’t actually be fighting the real Hulk inBrave New World…at least, that we know of.
First Look at ‘Captain America 4’s The Leader Funko Figure Hulk-Smashed by Fans
Fans have sort of been given their first look at The Leader in ‘Captain America: Brave New World’, in the form of a Funko Pop! figure.
During the same interview with EW, Marvel Studios’ head of visual development, Ryan Meinerding, discussed creating Red Hulk forCaptain America: Brave New World. Yes, he will greatly resemble the out-of-control version of Bruce Banner’s green alter ego, but it seems Red Hulk will keep some of Ross intact in his hulking form. Could this be how Captain America eventually defeats him? Meinerding explains:

“The Red Hulk in the comics is not entirely a monster. He has more of a human personality to him. So, we’re trying to create something that felt a little bit more human to match Ross’s personality.”
