Almost a year after his untimely death,Bob Sagetwill have his final performance unveiled with the release of the new filmDaniel’s Gotta Die. PerTHR, it has been revealed that Saget will posthumously be featured in the film when it screens at this year’s Austin Film Festival. The film, which is directed by Jeremy LaLonde and written by Matthew Dressel, was also put together in part by Saget who had contributed greatly with its fellow cast and crew while working on the project.
“Bob’s passing came as a shock to the entireDaniel’s Gotta Dieteam," LaLonde said in a statement. “He was a collaborator through and through and he really loved this film. It’s with great sadness that he never got to see it finished. I can’t wait to see how audiences react to his final performance at Austin Film Festival with his final gift to all that loved him.”
“Bob truly loved the script and took on a very fatherly role right from the start; eager to help out in any way he could,” Dressel added. “He really brought the character’s heart to the surface of the script and was intent on making sure he always got it just right. On set, he always had the script pages in-hand and spoke with me often about making sure the character was as I intended. If there’s one person who deserved to see this film it’s Bob and I will always be sad he cannot. He helped us craft a beautiful and heart-warming send-off and I think people will really appreciate it.”
A comedy,Daniel’s Gotta Diefollows a man named Daniel (Joel David Moore) who “attempts to reconnect with his family but discovers they want to kill him for his inheritance.” Along with Moore and Saget, the cast of the film also includes Jason Jones, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Carly Chaikin, and Iggy Pop.

Bob Saget Is Loved and Missed
Saget was just 65 years old when he passed away in January of this year. The news was hard on many of his friends, as Saget had been such a beloved personality in the comedy scene. John Stamos and other pals of Saget had gotten together after his death to put together a tribute special featuring jokes and memories of the lateFull Housestar. It was filmed and has since been edited together in the form ofa Netflix tribute show. Some of hisFull Houseco-stars just recentlypaid tribute againin honor of the 35th anniversary of the sitcom.
