AMC has announced that the highly acclaimedBreaking Badprequel,Better Call Saul, will return for a fourth season on Monday, August 6th at 9 PM Pacific Time. While this is great news, the announcement also confirms that Jimmy McGill’s brother Chuck, who was played by Michael McKean, is officially dead, following the tragic house fire that ended Season 3 ofBetter Call Saul. The announcement also reveals thatBob Odenkirk’s Jimmy McGillwill start his transformation into the character that was first introduced onBreaking Bad. After thedeath of Chuckin Season 3, Jimmy McGill slowly starts to turn into Saul Goodman. As it turns out, Chuck’s death has long reaching effects, and not just on Jimmy. Chuck’s death also profoundly affects former colleagues Howard and Kim, which will put the two of them up against each other again in battle that was originally spawned by Jimmy and Chuck. In addition to the release date and synopsis, AMC has also revealed that Season 4 will contain 10 episodes like the previous seasons. When AMC first announced theBetter Call Saulseries, it was going to be a half hour long and consist of 10 episodes. However, plans changed and the format was changed to an hour-long show.

Better Call SaulSeason 4will premiere on August 6th on AMC, which is a little more than a year after Season 3 came to a close. Michael McKean’s Chuck character was a fan-favorite and it’s going to be tough for many fans to accept that he won’t be back. McKean took to Twitter after the final episode ofBetter Call SaulSeason 3 to confirm the news and grieve with fans on social media. While Chuck is dead, it doesn’t mean that the character can’t show up in flashbacks.
