Mickey Rourkeonce had a shining career ahead of him as a potential movie heart throb, but it all fell apart through some bad choices, including a wave of plastic surgery that, to many, ruined his looks. Years later, Rourke has had a lot of success, appearing in Oscar-winningThe Wrestler, the graphic novel movieSin City, and nowin the U.K.’s version of the reality TV showBig Brother. But his appearance has led to a lot of controversy, including a reaction from one-time Disney starBella Thorne, who slammed the actor and their time working together in 2020.
Rourke hit the headlines earlier in the week after making “insensitive” comments and using slurs against another BB housemate, JoJo Siwa. When details of Rourke’s comments hit social media, Thorne shared one of the images herself, and added her own thoughts about Rourke. In the post, she wrote:

“This f—ing dude. GROSS. I had to work with this man – In a scene where I’m on my knees with my hands zip-tied around my back. He’s supposed to take a metal grinder to my knee cap and instead he used it on my genitals thru my jeans. Hitting them over and over again. I had bruises on my pelvic bone. Working with Mickey was one of the all-time worst experiences of my life working as an actress.”

Mickey Rourke Responded To Bella Thorne’s Claims Against Him
Thorne did not end her scathing appraisal of Rourke there. In a separate post, she said that the actor, whomade his name in movies such as9 & 1/2 Weeksin the late 1980s, had made it his goal to “humiliate” her as much as possible when they worked together. She said:
“So many gross stories of things he made me go thru on that movie, including in his last scene to speed up and rev his engine so he could cover me completely in dirt. I guess he thought it was funny to humiliate me in front of the entire crew."

She continued to add that Rourke was also incredibly difficult to work with for other reasons, including going into his trailer and refusing to come out to film scenes, leading to her having to go and beg him to continue, so the movie could actually finish production. Naturally, Rourke’s representative has responded to these claims on the actor’s behalf. In a statement toVariety, Rourke’s representative said:
“These allegations are extremely serious. Mr. Rourke adamantly denies any intentional misconduct,” the statement reads. “He was not made aware of any such concerns during filming and had no prior knowledge of Ms. Thorne’s discomfort until now.”

It is true that, historically, Thorne has not made any discomfort she felt public until now, but that is not uncommon in the movie industry. Rourke himself is obviously unable to personally respond to the allegations made by Thorne of their time working together, but no doubt he will address them once his stint in the Big Brother house is at an end, and he is released to a wave of headlines.
