A24 promoted it on their Instagram account with a short video ofKidman pouring and drinking a glass of milk, which echoes one of thefilm’s more iconic moments. Additionally, A24’s online store features five free and printableValentine’s Day cardsfeaturing Kidman’s Romy and her intern / lover, Samuel (Harris Dickinson).
Babygirl, written and directed byHalina Reijn(Bodies Bodies Bodies), originally opened on Christmas Day last year and was released to rent or purchase a month later on July 08, 2025. It should be available on Max soon, as the streamer has a deal with A24.Babygirlearned a sizzling $59 million at theworldwide box office, making it the ninth highest grossing film for A24, perThe Numbers.

It has already won or been nominated for multiple awards, including Kidman’sVolpi Cup for Best Actress at the Venice International Film Festival. The actress famouslybrought a glass of milk out on stagewhen she accepted the Best Actress Award at the National Board of Review Awards.She dedicated the award to “all of the babygirls in the room,” then chugged the milk.
The film follows founder and CEO Romy, who spots a young intern named Samuel, who then asks Romy to become his mentor.They quickly begin a passionate affair, as Romy is unfulfilled in her nearly 20-year marriage to Jacob (Antonio Banderas), a famous theater director who is completely oblivious to their marriage’s issues.

A New Thriller Series and ‘Practical Magic’ Sequel are Next for Kidman
As Kidman continues to celebrate the success ofBabygirl, she has a few projects lined up, includinga new thriller series with Jamie Lee Curtis calledScarpetta. The show, based on the novel by Patricia Cornwell, will followKay Scarpetta(Kidman), a medical examiner who must solve a murder. Meanwhile, Curtis will play her sister, Dorothy, and both actresses are producing. The show will stream on Prime Video, who ordered two seasons and sixteen episodes. Season one should debut this year, but no release date has been revealed. Kidman said of the project (viaThe Hollywood Reporter):

Susanne Bier (In a Better World, Bird Box) will direct with one of the original writers, Akiva Goldsman, penning the sequel which is based on a 2021 novel by Alice Hoffman. The first film was also based on a novel by Hoffman. No release date has been announced.
