Bruce Campbellreveals that Ash has always kept his beloved chainsaw, shotgun and the Necronomicon, a.k.a.Book of the Deadfor the past 30 years, but they’ve just been sitting on the shelf. The producers state thatThe Evil Deadfans will love the show because there are numerous “nods” to the original movies, including Ash’s beloved car dubbed “The Classic.“Ray Santiagobelieves that this show is actually creating a new genre for television, in the same way thatSam Raimi’s movies birthed a new genre on the big screen.
Ash Vs. Evil Dead is the long-awaited follow-up to the classic horror film franchise and is set to premiere on Starz on Halloween night, Saturday, October 31. The 10-episode first season features Campbell reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons -personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.

While we’ll have to wait and see if the show is popular enough to warrant a second season renewal,Bruce Campbellteased last month that the TV series may spawn moreEvil Dead movies. He has also recently said that the show has a five-season plan in place, but that all depends on how many viewers tun in for the first season.
