Today marks the anniversary of Tupac Shakur’s untimely death on August 07, 2025. He died on the streets of Las Vegas, gunned down at the age of 26. Today, we have the red band trailer forAll Eyez on Me, the upcoming biopic that recounts his short yet prolific career as one of the most iconic hip-hop artists in history.
Tupac Shakurwas shot down as he was driving away from a Mike Tyson boxing match on September 7. He died six days later from four bullet wounds that landed in his chest, hand and thigh. Those moments are recounted here, along with some of the darker moments from Tupac’s past. The footage is incendiary and definitely NSFW.
This is the second trailer to drop forAll Eyez on Me, and it once again proves that star Demetrius Shipp Jr. was the perfect choice to play the late rap star, as he is a dead ringer for the icon. The previous teaser landed on Tupac Shakur’s birthday, withMorgan Creek Productionscontinuing to pay tribute to the artist on important dates in his biography.
All Eyez on Mewill tell the gripping true tale of Tupac and his rise and fall, while never turning a blind eye on his troubled path to becoming one of the most influential and infamous people on the modern music scene. It is a powerful story, directed by Benny Boom from a screenplay by Ed Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft. Tupac’s mother Afeni Shakur serves as an executive producer, signing off on the project before her own death last year.
The Walking Deadstar Danai Gurira takes on the role Shakur’s mother in the movie. The ensemble cast also includes Kat Graham as Tupac’s longtime friendJada Pinkett, Dominic L. Santana as Suge Knight and Jamal Woolard as Biggie Smalls, whose life was taken around the same time asTupac. Tupac’s friendship with Dr. Dre will also be explored in the movie, as will his time spent with influential 90s hip-hop group Digital Underground, who first gave Tupac his start in the music business.
At this time, the death of Tupac Shakur and who actuallymurderedhim has never been solved. The movie follows last year’s blockbuster hitStraight Outta Compton, which focused on the rise and fall of N.W.A while also giving some time to Tupac’s story during hisDeath Row Recordsdays. At this time,All Eyez on Medoesn’t have a set release date. It will most likely be hitting theaters in early 2017.
