Often, the most famous actors and actresses are known for their ability to interpret and deliver their lines accurately and with perfect emotion. However, doing so can be a significant feat to overcome; one must fully understand their character to be able to know how the script should be performed. But, most importantly, actors must start by remembering their lines so that their performance doesn’t fall flat on screen.

For some, this is relatively easy and with years of practice in the acting business, remembering lines is a piece of cake. But that’s not the case for every A-list movie star. Today, we look back at some famous actors and actresses who have admitted to (or been rightfully called out by their coworkers) forgetting their lines on set.

The Hangoverhas become a modern comedy classic, thanks in part to Bradley Cooper’s hysterical performance as party animal Phil. However, the A-lister was shown in a blooper reel to have completelyblown his linesduring one scene on a Vegas rooftop. Bradley, being the professional he is, remained in character and eventually played it off, leaving us viewers with a funny outtake to an even funnier scene.

In 2001’sZoolander, Ben Stiller notoriously forgot his lines; however, this is one case where his mistake ended up working out in his favor! Fifty Shades of Greywas Rita Ora’s acting debut. In thissex-fueled flick, Rita plays Mia Grey, the adoptive sister of leading-man Christian Grey. Rita revealed that she felt immense pressure at this time and was anxious to perform well, with the stress of it all resulting in her forgetting lines frequently. She even admitted towearing an earpieceso she could have her lines fed to her to by someone off-set.

1Tom Cruise, Days of Thunder (1990)

In a now infamous story, Tom Cruise’s life wasput in serious dangerafter he forgot lines on the set of 1990’sDays of Thunder. In this high-energy car-themed action flick, Tom Cruise made the poor decision to tape his lines to the dashboard of his car as he was driving. This almost resulted in a near-fatal crash, with the crew ultimately pulling the plug on his risky idea. At least this shows just how dedicated of a stuntman Tom really is.
